The Virgin prepaid MasterCard is not a credit card, charge card or debit card, although you use it in exactly the same way to shop online, over the phone or in  store. It's a prepaid MasterCard® card that you load funds onto. 
Each time you use the card, the amount of your purchase and a 
2.95% fee are deducted from your balance. When your funds are 
running low you simply load up the card again.

Because you can only spend up to the amount you've loaded onto the card, it's much easier to keep within your budget. You can keep track of what's on your card any time online, so you're always in control of your money.

Anyone can get one
You don't even need a bank account. A Virgin Prepaid MasterCard® allows you to shop on the high street, on the web, by phone, and by mail order, making life so much easier for those of us who don't have or want a credit card.

And because there are no postal statements it's handy for hiding prezzie purchases from a partner's prying eyes.

*Please note, if we can't verify your identity based on the information you give us on your application we'll send you a 'restricted' card. There's a total spending limit of £1,600 a year on the restricted card - up to £600 of this can be withdrawn from cash machines. You can  upgrade to an unrestricted card by sending us proof of your identity. There is a £4.95 admin fee for this which would be taken from your card.
